During a summer hiking holiday in the mountains, we explored different trails every day. One of our hikes was planned as a full-day tour, but after our lunch break the weather started to worsen. So we decided to take the quickest route back down into the valley.
It’s important to mention that the mountain can be climbed — and descended — from two different valleys. As we made our way down, I wanted to check whether we were actually heading in the right direction. I opened the PAJ app to see the exact location of our car, since I always keep a PAJ GPS tracker in the vehicle to find it easily again.
When I checked the app, I realized that we were moving further and further away from the car. We had taken the wrong path. So we had no choice but to turn around and go back over the summit to reach the correct valley.
The hike ended up being much longer than planned, but thanks to the tracker we avoided walking all the way into the wrong valley.
The picture was taken at the exact moment I noticed we were on the wrong path.
