Speed Alerts, Camper Life, and a Hilarious GPS Glitch

When things need to go quickly, I don’t just use my GPS tracker to remember where I last parked my camper — I also use it to keep myself and my heavy right foot in check. The speed alerts are perfect for giving me an instant guilty conscience whenever I drive a bit too fast.

With 165 horsepower in a VW Crafter converted into a motorhome, the motto is definitely “more living space than engine power”, and anything beyond 110 km/h is already pushing it.

But during our holiday in the Julian Alps, when the alarm suddenly went off reporting 278 km/h, we couldn’t stop laughing. At that moment, the speedometer wasn’t even showing 27 km/h. A brief GPS glitch had “teleported” us to Bosnia and Herzegovina!
